FlexRay - Testing and Analysing

C&S group is a premium associated member in the FlexRay Consortium and for more than three years has been intensively involved in many activities have contributed to:
- methods leading to the conception of the data link layer and physical layer conformance test specifications
- the review of the electrical physical layer and data link layer conformance test specifications
- many improvements and bug corrections in the protocol and physical layer specifications
- the analysis in order to ensure a level of interoperability of FlexRay bus drivers from different sources in a system environment
- the conception of the physical layer conformance test implementation
- the development of the supervisor software to coordinate the test procedures in the physical layer conformance test
- the Physical Layer working group
- the simulation task force, with methods leading to the quality assurance of FlexRay topologies
- since the beginning of 2006 C&S is the chairman of this task force
- the physical layer conformance test working group for the maintenance of the physical layer conformance test system and specification
FlexRay Protocol - C&S products and services:
1. C&S FlexRay Physical Layer Conformance Test
Official FlexRay physical layer conformance test based on the conformance test specification for:
- bus drivers
- active stars
- test system and test execution services available
2. System Behaviour Analysis - FlexRay Topologies Simulation
- Modelling and simulation of standard and customer specific FlexRay topologies.
- Verification of signal integrity of physical layer implementation including wiring.
- Transient analysis
- Monte Carlo analysis
- Availability of model libraries and support in simulation services
- Signal behaviour of complex network topologies with complex control boxes in vehicles
- Cable line modelling with consideration of the frequency dependent losses
- Modelling of complex electronics for cable line stimulation
- Modelling of transceivers - interface between analogue and digital systems
3. System Design and Evaluation
- Methods leading to performance oriented specification. System Opera-ting Variables Space (SOVS)
- "Smooth" adjustment of the above methods to existing system tools
- Modelling
- Test architecture in automotive production
- Behaviour of complex automotive electronics, particularly regarding methods to systematically recognize unscheduled process interferences due to so-called "variable tunnelling"
- Testing and analytical procedure for distributed systems by means of coordinated methods for communication and process modelling
- Consulting
- Requirements analysis
4. Customer Coaching
At the beginning of the IC design phase C&S helps to integrate testability. Pre-testing during the design can reveal problems early. Consequently the customer coaching has been established to support a better understanding of the different specification requirements improving the design and avoiding troubles during the development phase and subsequently in the conformance test.
